I took a chance to read these guidelines as well. Since I've been using
4-space tab for all this time, I guess I should switch to 8, even though
they seem a bit to many... Is there a particular reason 8-space tabs
have been chose?

Moreover, in the Deadlocks example of the coding guidelines the code is
actually with 4-space tabs, so maybe even the author isn't so convinced
about that 8... joking. ;-)
