The debian packages have no patches or any code changes of mono 1.0.5,
you could try to remove all mono packages and try a source install of
mono 1.0.5 if you want. I would believe it's maybe kernel/nptl/tls
related or just mono 1.0.5 itself.

Anyhow mono 1.1.6 packages for debian are almost ready ;)
