[Mono-devel-list] Clarification of my last post

Sorry for the confusing email but what I'm looking for is the jar
functionality that can maybe handle gz and bzip2 files as well, built right
into the mono VM. And I know, I know, the windows runtime does not do that,
but it would still be something nice to see.

Subject: [Mono-devel-list] implicit bootstrap from a zip/gz file?

Hey everyone,

Has anyone thought about adding an implicit tar "de-archive" to mono.exe to
allow things like:

mono -tar blah.tar.Myclass

So the main() method in myclass gets bootstrapped? YES, this is the same as
java jar files...

I understand that you can add resource files to a dll/exe but I'm not sure
it that allows for a single dll to contain everything an application needs.
This would be extra nice for web applications where you can bundle up all
aspx/dll/png files.
