Just in case this hasn't been considered, there was some posts on the MS
blogs not long ago on what assemblies should be GAC'ed. If I remember
correctly, the recommendation was for essentially the framework dlls and
almost nothing else. This of course may not be relevent to the mono
implementation, nor reflect the reality in Windows. I just thought I
should mention it so that after this is all worked out we can have some
recommendations of whether everyone should use the GAC or not.
