I'll soon update the project files (adding a new file) and, because we
should preach by good examples, I'll delete the .user on the same occasion.

Well the problem is that local changes show up as change files and that
can cause some problems.
But it is absolutely save to delete .user .suo and other temp files,
they do not need to be present [we do that all the time].
