                                            Hi,

  On the runtime front:

- a few bugs got fixed:

http://bugzilla.ximian.com/buglist.cgi?product=Mono%2FRuntime&email1=&emailtype1=substring&emailassigned_to1=1&email2=&emailtype2=substring&emailreporter2=1&changedin=&chfield=resolution&chfieldfrom=2003-08-14&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&short_desc=&short_desc_type=substring&long_desc=&long_desc_type=substring&bug_file_loc=&bug_file_loc_type=substring&keywords=&keywords_type=anywords&op_sys_details=&op_sys_details_type=substring&version_details=&version_details_type=substring&cmdtype=doit&newqueryname=&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&form_name=query

- some work on the thread safety of the runtime, so it is much
better now, with finer-grained locks instead of one big
lock. There
are still some problems on SMP machines when compiling
with mcs,
   though.

- extensive work on the AOT compiler. Running mcs with AOT
code is
now actually faster than running it with the JIT :). The
AOT compiler is
now ready for prime time, except the assembly cache etc.
stuff, which
  is not yet done.

                        Zoltan
