You don't say which version of mono/mcs/xsp you are using.

If you run install with xsp 0.6 or current CVS, the tests are installed
to ${prefix}/share/doc/xsp/test. is that the directory you're testing
on? I bet it's not.

The extensions.dll assembly is installed under share/doc/xsp/test/bin.
