Zoltan, I pushed a slightly modified version of the patch you attached to have
errno reported. This is in master and mono-2-10.

As a side note [couldn't add it earlier, Novell bugzilla account borked, had to
create this new one] I am running several servers on debian and ubuntu. All of
them are 32bits and in all of them I compiled mono from sources using the
mono-2-10 branch. Everything is working fine in all of them.
