Hi again, I have now a solution to the problem. Will close the bug.

Recap:
Problem: Arch Linux Mono 2.10 package has above bug.
Solution: Get the latest distribution 2.11.0.0 from git (i.e. SVN), build per
instructions. However, I used prefix=/usr to replace existing mono
installation. Now everything is fine. Thanks.
