Sadly, my customer is running HP backup software that touches all files in the
system. It runs every night, and seems to fail about once a week. Apparently it
takes just enough time to touch all of the files that it counts as multiple
restarts. IT turned off backups of that directory for a while, but apparently
they are running again. :(

Other than the scenario under which this happens IRL, I have nothing useful to
add, other than that people affected by this problem should try the workarounds
described in bug #648193. I'll look at fixing the reload code if I suddenly
have spare time on my hands, or if the workarounds don't work for me. :)
