FWIW - I've *never* been able to build directly from the source tree, but do
always build from source releases.  Anyhow, replacing all files with what's
found here:  

https://github.com/mono/mono/tree/master/mcs/class/System.Web/System.Web.SessionState_2.0

over the associated files in the 2.10.2 source release fixed me.
