Thanks Zoltan. Does that make it a compiler error rather than a runtime error? 

But if so, it is confusing that the bug doesn't manifest under Windows, using
the same executable. I have also just checked out and built the latest Git
version of the mono runtime (Mono JIT compiler version 2.9 (master/8fd76fb Wed
Jan  5 22:17:40 EST 2011)), and I can't get the buggy behaviour using the same
executable on it either.

Apologies for my ignorance -- please reclassify this bug to whichever component
is at fault.
