After fixing the VS2k10 build, I just ran this 5 times and I'm seeing the same
thing every single time:

It opens an xterm, prints the logging information (I added some in my tree),
and then the app exits again.  No breakpoint hit, but also no "no ports
available" and no random VS crashes.
