Fixed in master 1b439c7 (perf. improvement for NTLM in f832b99),
mono-2-68f107bf (perf. improvement in 3ec2087).

As a side note, if you want to avoid authenticating more times than needed, you
can try to set UnsafeAuthenticatedConnectionSharing in the HttpWebRequest used
by the web service.
