To reproduce:
- open the XIB (RootViewController.xib in my case) by double-clicking on it in
Monodevelop, so that it opens in Interface Builder
- drag a Segmented Control from the Library into the View
- Save the XIB in Interface Builder
- Switch back to MonoDevelop
- Try to compile

Compilation fails with this error:
"Unknown char: ."
on RootViewController.xib

Reproducible: Always
