Seeing the exact same problem on my new laptop too. 

I have an older development machine that was originally running Kubuntu 9.10
but has since been upgraded to 10.04 and then 10.10 and is able to debug
ASP.NET  applications with no problem. But on the new machine, with a fresh
install of Kubuntu 10.10, I am seeing the same issue when debugging (both with
my own application and the default MVC one generated by Monodevelop). 

I am running Mono 2.8 on both (built from source).
