Daniel,

   The validator's JS performs its task correctly. The postback is prevented
somewhere in Telerik JS which intercepts the request and the postback never
occurs. Investigating why Telerik JS does that is hard since the script is
obfuscated. Replacing RadToolBar with a plain <asp:Button/> makes the sample
work.
