Is there any chance to know if and when is this issue going to be solved?
(2.8? 3.0?)

Right know I just simply can't compile my solutions in MonoDevelop using mono.
If I choose Microsoft.NET it just works. On Linux I set up a long MONO_PATH to
help mono find "missing" assemblies (they are not "missing" for Ms.NET) ...
(I suppose this would work on Windows too, but the lack of console is
discouraging me from trying.)

If only I hadn't found a workaround, I would've set this bug's severity to
Critical...
