Ok, got the source, for reference the samples are in the `wf-apps' package in
OpenSUSE.
I am unable to reproduce using master or the 2.8 packages from sept 30ht:
mono --version:
Mono JIT compiler version 2.8.1 (master/1228fd4 Sat Sep 25 20:46:42 EDT 2010)
miguel at linux-bytm:/usr/src/packages/BUILD/wf-apps-0.5.1388> mono --version
Mono JIT compiler version 2.8 (tarball Thu Sep 30 17:45:56 UTC 2010)

This seems to be a windows-only problem. Are we using the wf-apps built with
mono or .net? and are we using the prisine code or the -Port version?
What about using those executables on linux, do they break?
