as a work around a PageSize option can be added:

lpoptions -p PDF -o PageSize="US\ Letter"

Could this be a difference between different cups config tools?



Would a sensible option be that if 'PageSize' isn't found parsing the 'media'
option? 
This seems to have 3 parts:

part1_part2_part3 

where part2 seems to match (case insensitively) the Page Size options.
