That must have been the problem.  The controller getting GC'd.   Once I made
the change to keep a reference to the controller, the problem went away.

I feel embarrassed that I had to submit a bug on that take up your time;
however I guess I just assumed that reference was being kept between the View
and the Controller automatically.
