Device debugging was working but I was enabling/disabling my WiFi adapter to
test disconnected error handling. When I went back to debug on device, MD was
trying to debug on the wrong IP address.

I suggest an option in MonoDevelop to allow the selection of the adapter so
that we can choose which one it should be using.
