Ed,

  I'm presuming you were using the:
                public UIAlertView (string title, string message,
UIAlertViewDelegate del, string cancelButtonTitle, params string []
otherButtons)

Constructor?  If this is a case, you can just keep an explicit reference to the
UIAlertViewDelegate you pass to the ctor to work around the issue?
