That problem code means that the Mono SSL stack was not able to create a valid
certificate chain, which is normal for MonoTouch (or a regular mono install
without root and intermediate certificates). If the problem was caused by the
certificate, you would not be able to see the 401 error because an exception
would be thrown earlier than that.
