here is the result of mono with sgen, but not pthread used on ArchLinux :

$ MONO_ENV_OPTIONS=--gc=sgen /usr/bin/mono /usr/lib/mono/2.0/gmcs.exe --version
Mono C# compiler version
$ uname -a
Linux dev 2.6.36-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 10 20:32:37 CET 2010 x86_64

$ MONO_ENV_OPTIONS=--gc=sgen /usr/bin/mono --version
