I am not sure what causes it, probably the breakpoint in the method called like

base.LoadReferencesCore (module, out corlib, out loaded);

The method signature is

protected void LoadReferencesCore (ModuleContainer module, out T
corlib_assembly, out List<Tuple<RootNamespace, T>> loaded)
