I took your provided sample, converted it to an ipad app, and ran it on a
device and got:

Wed Apr 28 17:21:32 iPad UIKitApplication:testvideo[0xc178][2948] <Notice>:
status: Stopped

Please note running an iPhone app on an iPad does not give it access to the 3.2
apis.
