Then the bug is really that MonoDevelop is completely unhelpful when that
happens - from my point of view, MonoDevelop doesn't work, doesn't give me any
indication that it's failing (for all I know, it's just slow to start up), and
doesn't give me any idea why or how to solve it.  

I've never heard of a wapi directory before this afternoon, so expecting me to
figure out that it's my problem isn't realistic.
