This is unrelated to MonoVS.  It is a mono bug.  You can reproduce it with
mono-2.4.3 and the source code for BlogEngine which I will attach.

cd into BlogEngine.Web and run xsp2.  Login to blogengine with the credentials
admin/admin to see the failure.
