This is good news you managed to replicate this bug.

In my case, there is a difference: the server has to be set to French for it to
work: English won't work at all.

Besides, the server language setting [1] can be overriden by the database user
language setting [2], which is equivalent to sending a "SET LANGUAGE" query
prior to any other query.

[1] in SQL Management Studio, yourserver=>properties=>advanced=>default
language
[2] in SQL Management Studio,
security=>connections=>yourusername=>properties=>general=>default language

What's more, the fact that some months fail and some other succeed in French
due to the fact that Mono does not use full month names but abbreviations,
which don't match what SQL server expects, is a different bug than this one.
Should I open another one?
