It is probably because cairo-quartz font backend has some bugs to get (or fall
back to) correct default font family i.e. a cairo bug. Macports has once turned
on the cairo-quartz as default, but reverted back to optional in March 2009
[*1]. Not sure if it is fixed in cairo itself and/or macports, but that very
likely means that our old cairo (1.6.4) used in libgdiplus has such an issue.
