I can not reproduce it with Mono 2.4, so either:
* YOur Mono add-on is broken
* Your scripts are broken

You could provide us with access to the system for example, so we could debug.

I suspect your `mono' is a shell scripts, and it is a broken script that you
guys wrote, that is probably something like:

#!/bin/sh
/some-path/mono $*
