/favicon.ico is used by recent browsers to display an icon in the address bar
for the web page. As far as I can remember it was originally introduced by
Internet Explorer for favourites only but other browsers added support for the
icon in the address bar and Internet Explorer followed them.

The exception is because that file does not exist.

I believe that 404 errors for static files should not be treated as exceptions
by a debugger.
