Summary: Directory.GetFiles *.* pattern should match files with
                    periods in them on Linux
    Classification: Mono
           Product: Mono: Class Libraries
           Version: 2.2.x
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P5 - None
         Component: CORLIB
        AssignedTo: mono-bugs at lists.ximian.com
        ReportedBy: mzyzik at gmail.com
         QAContact: mono-bugs at lists.ximian.com
          Found By: ---

Description of Problem:

Directory.GetFiles overload that takes a pattern ignores the ".*" portion of
the "*.*" pattern.

(Note: I see a comment in the _wapi_io_scandir function of
mono/io-layer/io-portability.c asking if there should be a MONO_IOMAP option to
control this behavior, so this is not an unknown issue.)

I do think, however, this is an issue. The msdn docs say nothing about the
"*.*" pattern and that it should be treated in an exceptional way. The MS.NET
runtime only treats the "*.*" pattern in a special way for familiarity sake for
DOS/Windows users. On Linux, the "*.*" pattern should not match files that are
missing a period character.
