Ok, about the SIGSEGV's, these are because you guys are using an old version of
the debugger.  You need to use the latest one from the Mono 2.4 branch or SVN
HEAD at the moment.  I'll try to backport the relevant fixes into 2.2 later.

This is indeed a SuSE 11.1 issue, I installed a completely new SuSE 11.1 in
VMware with all the Mono packages from Mono 2.2 and now I can confirm the
hangs.  In my VMware image, it actually seems to hang each time you start
monodevelop.
