Summary: compacting gc build option not available in
                    mingw-cross/windows
    Classification: Mono
           Product: Mono: Runtime
           Version: 2.4.x
          Platform: x86-64

I went through the trouble of trying to cross-compile mono to get around the
"Too many heap section error"; I was hoping the experimental compacting gc
would address it, but the choice is simply not available in the cross-compiling
context. Something about the thread models of __thread vs pthread and
--with-gc=sgen is automatically disabled.

I am just a little diappointed that one cannot try the compacting gc code in a
win32 context.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

2.
3.
