The CA signing google's certificate is unknown to mono unless you install all
the CA certifcates from mozilla or similar (search in mono-project.com to see
how). Another option is to do what google-sharp already does, which is setting
the certificate policy for the service point to something that ignores a
missing root certificate (see NoCheckCertificatePolicy.cs in
trunk/google-sharp).
