oh, that changes everything. 1.2.6 is almost 2 years old and I don't think
there's any fix being backported to that version. This works fine with at least
2.4 (latest stable release) and trunk.

If you can upgrade and everything works fine, please, mark the bug as resolved.
Otherwise, leave it open and we'll see if anybody wants to backport the fix to
1.2.6.
