Weird, your attachment doesn't cause any exceptions for me when I run it.  The
form is displayed, the text and the cursor changes as expected.  (I commented
out the Close() call so the form is visible.)

Also, it seems like the winforms Timer is correctly set to the gui thread.  I
will attach my test case.  You can see if I am missing something.
