The stacktrace contains this line:

at GLib.GType.FindTypeInReferences (System.String type_name,
System.Reflection.Assembly asm, System.Collections.Hashtable visited) [0x0003b]
in /usr/src/packages/BUILD/gtk-sharp-2.12.2/glib/GType.cs:163 
  at GLib.GType.LookupType (IntPtr typeid) [0x000b5] in
/usr/src/packages/BUILD/gtk-sharp-2.12.2/glib/GType.cs:189 

in the source, the Assembly.Load call is at line 169. Are you sure your 
gtk# includes that patch ?
