The test case in comment #20 is invalid - it won't work on .NET because of
invalid characters in the path passed to RewritePath (':'). I've fixed this
issue as well as the original problem you described in svn trunk, revision
117558

I cannot close this bug because of the dependency on bug #322330, but I'm
changing its severity to Minor and changing the subject so that it is clearly
marked as fixed
