Ok, I committed a fix to SVN HEAD.

Could you please check whether it's now working for you ?

If you have the time, it'd be cool if you could also try debugging a heavy
multithreaded application like xsp and check whether the problem shows up.

The patch fixes the problem on my computer (rohan), but without it, I only get
the error message, but the debugger doesn't hang.  So it'd be cool to get a
confirmation from you guys.

I'll also merge this back into the 2.0 trunk.
