The commit message is the following:

       * profiler.c (simple_shutdown): Don't call mono_thread_attach() on
       Win32.  Should fix #432388 for most cases until we have the new
       profiler on Win32.

So it's a hack for the old profiler until we have the new profiler ready on
win32.
