WC diff (3/3): ppc64 changes and additions

This diff includes the majority of ppc64 changes. It is no longer tested or
reviewed.
It also includes changes to allow building on Linux and Mac OS X with eglib
(due to lack of a ppc64 GLib). This is tracked in a separate bug and still
needs review by Raja.

The individual patches provided above have mostly been merged into this Git
branch now but differ slightly due to earlier changes. The standalone patches
should be applied instead, notably ppc-codegen.h. It does not include the
ppc/test.c Makefile fix.
