This was with a packaged version of the compiler, 0.0.0.5851.

I built a version from SVN (0.0.0.5913) and using that I get a 'real' error
message instead. (Not a genuine error, but not related to this bug report, so I
will mark this fixed and log that separately when I've investigated further)
