with r106559 the site is "almost" usable. Its still a bit slow and can, with my
slower SLED10 x86 box running FF2, gray out sometime when selecting large
countries (like Canada). However this does not happen on my faster openSUSE
10.3 x86_64 box running FF3.

I'll re-run some numbers to see where the time is now spent.
