As of revision 106297 the previous bugfix has been reverted. The fix broke
parsing in some other areas and because of that I'm reopening the bug and
marking it as [PARSER] (which means it is pending the parser rewrite after 2.0
is released).
Carlo, as a workaround for the bug you need to use identifiers at least two
characters long in the code render contexts.
