It looks like a different (but similar) font is being used (look at the '1'
characters) on my FF2 (where I can see the problem).

The font looks identical on my FF3 setup, i.e. where the display is correct.

I suspect the issue is that the application depends on the default font metrics
to position itself correctly. 

Asking Jeff to confirm my guess ;-)
