One point is that ubuntu was updated from 7.04, not a clean 8.04 install.
LD_LIBRARY_PATH is correctly set to /opt/mono-1.9.1/lib. 

Even when no shortcut is assigned, the menu width seems to be wrong, I attach
another screenshot.
