Your patch has been commited in r94110 with the following changes:

-Verification for nullable unboxing is left for the call wrapper;

-Allow widening of primitive types; and

-Generic parameters don't work in the patch as it compares the generic type
definition with the instantiation in mono_class_is_assignable_from calls.

I commited regression tests for this bug and the issues in your patch in
r94111.
